We are now offering a terrific opportunity for an enthusiastic professional with a life science background looking to expand or transition their career into a more business-oriented role. As a market analyst and part of our publication team, you will be responsible for conducting primary and secondary research to support the development of customer-ready market reports on the analytical and life science instrumentation industry.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Proactively execute projects and assignments to deadlines
Gather secondary research and use both top-down and bottom-up approaches to size markets and its verticals for the analytical and life science instrumentation industry
Evaluate financial data, combine qualitative information, and compose well-structured descriptions of the current market situation for industry participants
Produce customer-ready drafts of reports and deliver to management for further production, editing, or proofing
Composing occasional articles for our blog and newsletter on scientific topics
Occasionally design survey questions and survey flow for target scientific populations; analyze survey data and statistics
Collaborate with other analysts and staff as necessary to support quality production of project work
Hands-on experience with instruments such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, PCR, sequencing, or other instruments in academia or industry
At least two years of work experience in a laboratory environment
A working knowledge of company financial statements, world economics, and currency effects
Ability to use Microsoft Excel to generate effective graphs and tables from primary and secondary research data
Excellent writing skills using proper grammar and sentence structure
Ability to extrapolate market trends and “tell a story” using incomplete information
Ability to manage multiple projects and set strategic priorities
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with management, colleagues, and clients
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field, such as biology, biochemistry, physics, genetics, or related areas
Advanced coursework or master’s degree or equivalent experience in a business field (i.e. MBA) or scientific field is preferred, but not required
