The Chief Technology Officer is accountable for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our web-based technology infrastructure supporting the organization’s growing product portfolio.  This position will work with the leadership team to ensure the IT architecture meets the needs of multiple existing business lines and their associated products and services.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all project-related factors including budgets and resources, and for meeting identified metrics in pursuit of short and long-term development goals. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure new products and services have the required technology support to ensure operational efficiency.

 

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Technology Strategy

  • Provide technical input including project requirements and potential pitfalls into proposed business objectives and business line product innovations.
  • Develop an IT strategy and roadmap to support business objectives. Establish communication and launch/implement plans.
  • Define a playbook for expansion informed by company objectives, SEO insights, customer needs, and growth strategies.
  • Create and manage IT budget.
  • Forecast and manage resource requirement and associated strategy to ensure deliverables can be fulfilled.

Architecture Development

  • Coordinate across the organization to ensure overall IT roadmap and individual project scope have clear objectives and are understood by all stakeholders.
  • Use data analytics to drive strategy and prioritization of projects within the roadmap
  • Work with business line leaders to ensure design features and functions are developed

Team / Vendor Management

  • Hire and manage staff and support vendors as required.
  • Ensure team is involved in process identification and changes, participating in actively learning and meeting roadmap and project goals.
  • Establishes and tracks Agile process, planning, milestones and deployment to ensure completion of both in-house and outsourced projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of experience
  • 10+ years’ of end-to-end IT management experience, ideally within the online media space
  • 3+ years of experience managing people
  • Project Management experience through all phases from kick-off to implementation and analysis; PMP preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Experience creating and managing a budget.
  • Experience working with operations on B2B and B2C web-based product support
